I am Pranav Sundararajan, a professional working in the Decision Sciences space for the past 4 years, helping fortune 100 companies make data-driven decisions which benefit their businesses. I applied with a score of 720 in GMAT and have received admit offers from both UIUC's Gies school of Business (with a 100% scholarship) as well as from University of Rochester's Simon School of Business (with a 65% scholarship, although it should be noted that Simon provides a STEM designated MBA).
I need to choose between these two offers by Jan 23rd, after which I will pay a deposit to the tune of $1500 and wait for the calls from the other B-schools I have applied to which include Duke Fuqua, UCLA Anderson, and UNC Kenan Flagler in the US, and NUS Singapore.
I am planning to specialize in strategy and finance and take up a tech/strategy consulting role after graduation in any of the Big 4 consulting companies. At the same time, I harbor entrepreneurial ambitions and plan to network and connect with potential VC's who can fund my start-up idea.
Right now I am thoroughly confused with choosing between UIUC's Gies and UR Simon. I do understand the merits of choosing a STEM certified MBA student for an International student but I believe UIUC would provide me with more opportunities to chase my entrepreneurial ambitions, although my employment chances would be greater in Simon.
I need someone with an understanding of both these schools to help me understand which would be a better choice for me. I think you are such a person and would very much appreciate any information you want to share with me regarding this.
