I am planning for MBA in Canada and so for that I had appeared for GRE last month. Majority of the universities in Canada accept both GRE and GMAT as one of the admission requirements and therefore with one or two more reasons, chose GRE over GMAT. My GRE score was 305 (148V, 157Q) which converted to 530 GMAT. I just lagged by a 2-3 marks in GRE in order to attain 550 in GMAT which is minimum requirement in many universities. Also, I would not be taking GRE/GMAT again.
My concern here is:
1) The first tier and even the fourth tier universities have a same minimum requirement of GMAT score i.e. 550. So, regardless of seeing the minimum requirement, should I apply to universities of lower tier? (I do have a decent overall profile) Would the admission commitee even take my application into consideration?
2) Can a good IELTS band compensate a low Verbal score in GRE?
Also, please suggest some shortlisted universities with the above score.
I have thousands of questions running through my mind but right now, I would ask these two. Please provide your views/suggestions/experiences.
