Haas for Finance

I've seen this topic addressed previously with the general consensus being that Haas is not a strong finance school, but I wanted to get some feedback on my specific case.

I applied to the big name finance programs (Wharton, Booth, Columbia) and unfortuantely was denied at 1 and waitlisted at the other 2. I also applied and was admitted to Haas. Although it doesn't have the finance reputation of the other three, I have a strong interest in moving to the west coast and was really impressed when I visited.

I'm pretty set on Haas, but a part of me is struggling with whether it would make more sense to re-apply to the other programs next year. I'm open to any thoughts, particularly from those familiar with the Haas finance program.

Here are a few other points to clarify my current situation:
- Currently work in corporate development / M&A; looking to switch to investment management
- I have little to no interest in investment banking
- Given my lack of investment management experience, I'm willing (and expecting) to end up at a smaller shop (i.e. not expecting Fidelity, Blackrock, etc.)
- I've met enough students / alumni at Haas who have done well in investment management to conclude I can get the type of job I want, but it will likely require more work on the networking front. Formal on-campus recruiting won't be as strong for IM.
- I'm still a little concerned that Haas doesn't have the network / prestige in finance that Wharton/Booth/Columbia would offer, which is the main reason for my hesitation
- I'm currently 28 and have a strong preference not to put off school another year

Thank you in advance!
