I am really interested in working in a quantitative oriented role, so naturally, I developed an interest in finance. I majored in finance in my first MBA (from one of the top tier schools in India) but I couldn't get a good job that matched my interests, maybe because of the bad position that Indian economy is in ![Mad :x]()
Anyway, I have decided to join a HR strategy consulting firm because the role offered, although not in finance, is an analytical one involving a lot of numerical analysis. But when I grow in the current profile, I will be moving towards a client facing role rather than an analytical one, which I don't want early in my career. So, I am thinking about going for a second MBA after, say 3-4 years, from US where I will major in Finance. I will also thinking about completing CFA/FRM/CQF certifications along the way.
My questions are
1) Is it possible to switch roles with such a plan?
2) Any other advice for switching roles, except MBA?
