I know from reading the forum that this question is very much old hat, but I'm hoping to get some outside perspective on my personal circumstance. I really value any and all input, so if you have good perspective please reply to the post.
I took the GMAT (first attempt) and scored a 710, but only 71% in Quant. I hear that this is on the low side for Quant scores at the top schools (H/W/S/etc) --where I am hoping to be accepted, so I am considering retaking the GMAT.
To give a better idea of who I am. I am a white male 24y/o with 2 years of good work experience. My undergrad GPA was a 3.7 in economics from a non-Ivy (think UChicago, Johns Hopkins, WashU, etc).
Having said all that, application season is basically upon me and I need to pull the trigger and make the decision of whether to retake. Any guidance is very much appreciated.
More specifically, I'm not sure if anyone has a good gauge on this, but how much of a bump would be required for it to actually be "worth" retaking, i.e. a noticeable difference on my application?
