Profile Evaluation

Hi Jon,

Could you take a look at my profile? I am not sure how I stand as a candidate at the programs I am looking at.

Work Experience: I would have 4 years of experience at time of matriculation all at the same job. Currently I am Sr. Business Analyst with a Fortune 100 company (Pharma). We have SAP-like product which is targeted for forensic laboratories. Since we are working with labs, a working knowledge of science and lab processes is necessary. I have learned to program and I have done so, but most of my responsibilities involve meeting with a client, defining work processes, and identifying inefficiencies to address and improve on. I am working on the largest forensic contract in the country currently and after 2 years of working was promoted to Sr. position on the project. I noticed in some of your posts that you mentioned leadership. I have taken on much greater of a leadership role in the past year, heading up projects within the larger project and leading small teams (5-9 developers, QA) to completion. I can provide more details, if I wasn't clear. Additional leadership positions were those in my undergraduate extracurriculars listed below.
GMAT: 750 (49Q, 42V)
Undergrad Experience: Johns Hopkins University 3.68 B.A Biology (First Major) Public Health (Second Major) Minor in Entrepreneurship and Management
Extracurriculars: In College: Johns Hopkins Tutorial Project (Tutor), AKPsi Professional Business Fraternity (VP Marketing, Interchapter Liason)
Circle K (Marketing Chair, Social Chair)
After College: Provided English tutoring to recent immigrants, Local Soup Kitchen often on weekends.
Schools: FT at Sloan, Wharton, Tuck, Haas, Booth, Kellogg, Stern, maybe HBS
Post MBA Goal: Management consulting (McKinsey, Bain)/Finance <- These are two fields I am very interested in but not sure what experience needed for the latter.
Uniqueness: Coming from a science background, I never did anything remotely IT related in my undergrad studies, but was able to learn and excel in my position. Mostly through my work and through my personal time I've well-traveled, having been to many states and several countries, from NYC to Ethiopia. I am a huge foodie, and have tried very best of local cuisine throughout my travels.

Based on looking at websites and admissions criteria, I think GPA and GMAT wise I am okay. Work experience wise, I have done well at my job and will have a letter to attest to that, however my company was not Bain, JP Morgan, or another prominent MBA feeder. Also I am also concerned that science-related IT isn't necessarily I-Banking, management consulting or other fields such as those which are considered strong pre-MBA. My volunteering could be stronger. My nationality is American, but my ethnicity is Indian. I am sure this doesn't help, but am I lumped in with the applicants from India? Probably not but I am not really sure. Do I have a good chance at my listed programs?

This is only my second post. If you think its too long, vague, or if I need to elaborate on any particular section, I would like your suggestions on what I could change. Thanks for your time and input!
