Hi EssaySnark!

I just gave the GMAT, and scored 760(Q50, V44) !!
Will start with the applications soon... it would be great if you could evaluate my profile as it stands now.

- Chemical Engineer, graduated from a reputed Indian university, first class with distinction (went from second class to first class to distinction in the four years, top 5 % in the final semester.)

- For the first two years(during engg), worked full time with my father in his company - waste water treatment. Sales, marketing, rebranding, working on site, managing 5 people.

- In the third year of engg, I also managed to complete a certificate program in Business Management from IIT Bombay

- Final year --- Internship in a chemical design company

- 3 days after graduation, I joined a leading IT company. No development or coding, I went straight into Information Security Auditing and implementation of standards such as ISO27001, SSAE16, BS 25999/ISO 22301 for the organization. Also worked with more than a 100 projects in identifying controls according to contractual reqmts etc etc

- Also part of the business continuity team, part of the team that helped the organization maintain critical processes during a few business disruptions, frequent interaction with senior leadership.

- Volunteered for, and provided information security and business continuity preliminary introduction to 1200 + new joiners over the course of 2 years.

-Multiple letters of appreciation, awards, promoted after 14 months.

Extra curriculars --

Played on the junior college and engineering soccer teams , worked with theatre groups.

Part of the college council that organized a national level competition in engineering college, involved with sponsorships and execution of the event.

Other notables include a 99 and 90 percentile in the national cyber and science olympiads respectively,in 10th . Also multiple awards for competitive exams. Was also awarded a gold standard merit certificate for teamwork in the current organization.

- Have been volunteering at a local NGO that promotes education amongst school children, about 6 hours a month for the past 3 years (sporadic in between)

- Also speak German, slightly rusty, but that can be improved.

Short term goals include working with organizations in leading such activities as implementing standards and various controls in place, but I would perhaps also look at full scale business continuity roles.

Therefore, I am more inclined towards General Management. I want to work in Germany, and therefore looking specifically at ESMT, Mannheim, and a few others in the region. INSEAD too, however yet to really get a feel of whether that is attainable and more importantly, whether INSEAD grads actually do work in Germany... hope to research INSEAD more seriously in the days to come.

Do you think these schools are a decent selection given my profile and career aspirations?

Thank you in advance!

Mal.
