Hey guys,
I recently gave my GMAT on the 5th of August and made the worst possible blunders possible. These are completely unavoidable and you should keep in mind because you would never imagine this could happen.
First of all, I fatigued myself with work in the three days prior to my test. And then took too random sleep spells in the day before the exam. My brain was not at all active and perhaps too tired out of all the work I had been upto.
On the test day, I reached the center about 45 minutes in advance. Well, it turned out to be a big mistake as they didn't let me enter and I was forced to roam around in the streets. I live in India and roaming in the open in 45 degree Celsius wasn't the best thing to do before your exam. I could have chosen to sit at a restaurant or at any covered place, but sadly there was none available nearby. So, I was forced to sit out in the open for nearly an hour.
During that waiting period, I drank one can of Red Bull. I never knew it would do me more harm than good. After finishing my AWA and IR section, I took the optional break and went to the loo straightway. Came back , had half a can of Red Bull again and one snack bar. Did the same in the break before the Verbal section.
Now, where this hurt me was during the last 20 minutes in both my Quantitative and Verbal Section, I had such an urge to pee that I couldn't even sit, forget about concentrating. I ended up hurting my last 10-15 questions in both the sections. This is perhaps the silliest thing I could do to screw my score. I had scored 700 in both my GMAT Prep and despite insufficient preparation, I was confident of at least a 700 score.
This is not the usual tip you would expect. But I guess you should just keep this in mind as you would be really unlucky to lose out because of such a silly thing. I'm just 20 and I can give it again. But for you it could be an important chance.
