Hi everyone,
So I'm in the low-GPA camp (about a 2.95 out of 4), and am strongly considering taking an extra course to compensate for my poor undergrad track record. Unfortunately I think I'll only be able to take one course, due to time and cost considerations.
I come from a business undergrad w/ accounting major, and was hoping to get people's opinions on which courses I should take. I've got a pretty spotty track record, mainly due to my lack of enthusiasm for accounting (and lack of focus in favour of other 'social' activities back in school). I'm looking to switch into consulting/marketing.
Please see below for some of the poor-performing courses I took in undergrad. Would re-taking any one of these be of benefit, and if so, which? I'm leaning towards first-year microeconomics, mainly because it's my lowest grade, and because it's still fairly applicable to me. Or should I take entirely new courses altogether?
Intro to microeconomics (1st yr) D-
Managerial statistics (2nd yr) C+
Finance (3rd yr) C+
Tax (3rd yr) D+
Financial statement analysis (4th yr) D
Would re-taking a course at this point be of any significant value? Or should I just focus on my essays/recs/other parts of my application at this point? (I have a 700 GMAT) Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
