Confused between Job change and MBA

Guys,

I have been preparing for GMAT and I am in the cross road. Please let me know your thoughts

I am working full time and looking to do part time MBA in one of the top few schools. However at my company there has been significant job cuts and I am worried about my job, I am actually leading a team and was hoping to get recommendation letter from these guys.

I have another opportunity in front of me in a big known internet company in a contract position via their prime vendors. (I'll not be employee of this big known company, I'll be employee of their prime vendor)

I was thinking if I join this, will it affect my MBA application? In terms of, will the adcom think that I was in a good career progression into team lead and left everything and joined IT contracting?

I agree, during an interview if this comes, Its okay, I could explain, however if they dont even call for the interview seeing this! Then I am gone.

I know there are too many variables and too many if and but, However I am sure some of you might have gone through this phase. Any input would be really helpful.
