Hi there,
I have been admitted to these 3 programs and I really need to choose!
My profile: 29, 4 years xp in Banking (S&T). I want to switch to a different area within finance ( Plan 1: business development position in HF; plan B: equity research)
Here are my points for each program;
1) Oxford vs Cambridge: Cambridge seems to have the best program (more projects, electives) than Said. However their MBA is very niche whereas Oxford is mainly Finance electives but seems more mainstream. Cambridge has a better ranking in FT but not ranked in BW. I have the feeling (maybe wrong ) that Oxford has better recognition, In finance in general but also abroad. (and maybe a better upside potential, but that might just be a feeling)
2) LBS Mif: very good ranking, great school, great program, however it will be a Mif and not a MBA. Afraid I will always be a second class Citizen vs MBA in LBS.
Also, considering the market at the moment, an over-specialisation within Finance might not be a good call. (but on the other side, it will be very difficult to switch with a 1y MBA anyway)
Things would be easier if I had the LBS MBA, but unfortunately I didn't apply!![Smile :)]()
My rationale behind the MBA was to get different opportunities, networking but still keeping a good shot post MBA within Finance if for some reason I decide to stay within the same field.
please feel free to share your thoughts!
