Importance Of Corporate Social Responsibility i.e CSR

Hi,
I would like to understand what role CSR plays during B-School applications. Is it considered under extra-curricular activities ? Also what do admission officers expect when they read about an applicant having some CSR experience as extra activity apart from the job ?
