First, my profile:
Top non-Ivy private school, 3.5 political science major (virtually no quant classes)
2 years back-office role at top hedge fund + 4 years operations consulting at top management consulting firm
Targeting Booth, Kellogg, Haas, Yale
Just took my first GMAT today and got 42Q/45V which combines for a 710. The 42Q in particular puts me at the 57th percentile, which looks pretty abysmal.
So - should I retake to raise my Q score? I feel like I can spin a pretty good story about how my work experience has equipped me with strong quantitative skills, but will the adcoms find that sufficient to balance out my Q score?
