1. I have been working as a manufacturing engineer for a defense contractor since I graduated college in 2010. In my job, I have experience managing the daily operations for two projects, troubleshooting issues in teams, and leading process improvement projects.
Also, I worked on the side for a short period assisting with the development and design of websites.
2. GMAT - 750 ( 49 Q, 44 V), I am considering taking it again to bring up my quant score.
3. In 2010 I graduated from Purdue University with a major in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Management with a 3.42 GPA.
4. I'm weak in extracurricular activities. I'm physically active playing in city league sports, running , and hiking. I am also a certified scuba diver, working towards my advanced certification. I also attend events in my local alumni organization.
5. Certifications - Six Sigma Green Belt
6. I am interested in a program where I can have an analytical focus in my MBA education. I'm looking at Carnegie Mellon, UT Austin, and Cornell(possibly a dual degree with an MEng in operations research and information engineering). I'm also looking at Michigan, Columbia, Virginia, and NYU. I love the curriculum options at Northwestern and Wharton, but I understand that my chances are low at those schools and I'm not sure if it's worth applying to either of them. I would appreciate any recommendations on which schools to apply to based on my qualifications and interests.
7. I would like to apply in the first round if I am comfortable with my application.
8. My first choice it to work in an analytical consulting position. My backup would be to use my experience and the same analytical skills I want in my education to get an operations position.
