I've had only a few supervisors in my post-collegiate work experience, and one is an extremely poor writer -- to the extent that a reading of a handful of memos might have you wondering about his grasp of basic English grammar and spelling (yes, he is a native English speaker). I mean, it's really awful stuff.
Regardless of what he might say about me as an employee and a person, I'm worried that his letter will come across as unprofessional and maybe cast a pall on my entire time at that company. But to omit his recommendation would leave a glaring hole in my application, since my employment at that company comprises a large chunk of my work history.
What can I do?
