Hello GMAT Club Members,
I hope you all are doing well.
I am in a bit of a predicament and would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer. I had taken a 3-month sabbatical to fully focus on my GMAT preparation. Nearing the end of my prep, I was scoring between 655 and 695 on my practice tests, so I felt ready and booked my GMAT for July 18th.
Unfortunately, due to Crowdstrike updates and global Windows system outages (at least that's my hypothesis), I was unable to take my exam. I had checked into the exam center and was taken to my system by the test administrator, but the test wouldn't start due to a server issue. As a result, the administrator had to cancel my exam.
This was quite unfortunate as I had to resume work on July 22nd. The test center administrators assured me that they would help me resolve the issue and allow me to retake my exam within the next 3 days. However, I received no response from them, and calling any helpline numbers only led to a series of bureaucratic hurdles with no resolution.
It has now been nearly two weeks since this incident, and my exam status on the "mba dot com" website still shows as pending instead of canceled. Because of this, I am unable to reschedule another exam. Despite repeated attempts to correspond with the test center and GMAC support, I have received no assistance.
I am extremely distressed by this experience. I feel as if my 3 months of dedicated preparation have been wasted, and with work resuming, I am concerned about my ability to perform well, given my demanding consulting job with 12+ hour days almost every day.
If anyone has faced a similar situation or has any advice on how to navigate this, I would be immensely grateful.
Thank you in advance for your help.
