Q:
Is x = 1?
(1) x2 = 1/x2
(2) x2 = 1/x
from 1: we get (x4-1) = 0
(x2-1) ( x2+1) =0 you get x =1,-1 or other non-integer values.
From 2: x3-1 = 0 thus , x=1 or non-integer values.
Is it ok to ignore other non- integer solutions , though it is not specified x is an integer?
Thanks
